A pioneer in dental innovation, Dr. McClammy was among the first general practitioners in the United States to integrate the Surgical Operating Microscope into everyday clinical practice. His early adoption of this technology sparked significant interest within the dental community, leading him to lecture at the California Dental Association symposium in San Francisco in 1996. His presentation opened the door to additional speaking opportunities and helped advance widespread understanding of the microscope’s value in modern dentistry.
Later in 1996, Dr. McClammy sold his general practice to pursue a master’s degree in Endodontics at Boston University under the mentorship of Dr. Herbert Schilder, widely regarded as “the father of modern endodontics.” During his training, he had the unique opportunity to assist Dr. Schilder in his private practice, further refining his clinical skills and philosophy.
Following his time in Boston, Dr. McClammy returned to Oregon and established an endodontic practice in Bend, where he served the community until 2004. He then relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona, drawn by its warm climate, and opened a new endodontic practice in North Scottsdale. Today, he continues to provide advanced, compassionate endodontic care in an environment that prioritizes respect, comfort, and clinical excellence.
