Dr. Jimmy Chow Awarded As 2026 AZ Top Doc
Dr. Jimmy Chow has been reviewed and approved by AZ Top Docs based on merit for 2026. Dr. Chow is the founder of Chow Surgical LLC, where he trains American fellows and serves as Fellowship Director for an ISAKOS-accredited international fellowship in hip and knee surgery.
He also serves as National Medical Director of Orthopaedics for Tenet Healthcare — one of the largest for-profit healthcare systems in the country and parent company to Abrazo, Carondelet, and USPI in Arizona. In every role, he combines visionary leadership with hands-on surgical excellence.

Since performing the first SuperPATH® procedures in 2008, Dr. Chow has gone on to complete more than 4,000 of these advanced hip replacements. His patented contributions to technique and instrument design have helped shape the procedure’s modern form, and he regularly lectures and trains surgeons around the world.
Dr. Chow has also been at the forefront of robotic joint replacement. He performed Arizona’s first Makoplasty partial knee resurfacing in 2010, the state’s first NAVIO unicondylar knee in 2015, and the world’s first robotic ACL/PCL-sparing total knee in 2016. He later performed the world’s first robotically assisted revision total knee replacement and the first robotic hinged total knee replacement. In 2020, Dr. Chow helped launch the CORI robotic system, performing the world’s first CORI ACL/PCL-sparing total knee replacement.
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Chow consults for the Arizona Medical Board and maintains active membership in leading professional societies, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, among others. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Chow Research Foundation, supporting continued innovation in orthopaedic care.
