Throughout her career, she has focused on treating anorectal conditions and pioneering minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotic and laparoscopic procedures for colorectal cancer.
Today, Dr. Forstner-Barthell provides comprehensive care that includes diagnostic and screening colonoscopies as well as advanced treatment for a broad spectrum of benign colon and anorectal diseases. Her leadership and commitment to excellence extend beyond her practice—she served as Chair of the Cancer Committee and as a member of the Medical Executive Board at Banner Thunderbird Hospital from 2008 to 2017. In addition, she serves as an adjunct professor at A.T. Still University, where she mentors and trains future physician assistants.
A Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Dr. Forstner-Barthell is also an active member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. She maintains hospital affiliations across Phoenix, Glendale, and Peoria, ensuring her patients have access to exceptional care throughout the region.
Beyond her medical career, Dr. Forstner-Barthell is equally devoted to humanitarian work. For ten years, she led the Nicaraguan charity “Por Ellos,” helping improve the lives of underserved communities through healthcare and outreach.
