Carsten R. Hamann, MD, PhD, is a board-certified dermatologist at Saguaro Dermatology and the Contact Dermatitis Institute. He also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.

Dr. Hamann earned his undergraduate degree from Calvin College and his medical degree from Loma Linda University. He then pursued advanced research training at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark, where he completed a PhD in Public Health and Epidemiology, focusing on eczema risk factors and related comorbidities. Following his doctoral studies, he returned to the United States to complete his dermatology residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, serving as both Chief Resident and Assistant Chief Resident of Research.

An active contributor to dermatologic research, Dr. Hamann is a co-author of three textbook chapters on rubber and metal allergies and has published more than 57 peer-reviewed articles.
