Dr. John Flint
Dr. John Flint is an upper extremity surgeon who has been an integral part of Flagstaff Bone & Joint since 2010, specializing in advanced care for hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions. He graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University before earning his medical degree with honors from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Dr. Flint completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and pursued specialized fellowship training in upper extremity surgery at Triangle Orthopaedic Associates in North Carolina, where he trained alongside nationally recognized hand and shoulder experts.
Known for his patient-focused approach and surgical expertise, Dr. Flint introduced wide-awake hand surgery to his practice, an innovative technique that allows select procedures to be performed without general anesthesia or sedation. This minimally invasive approach can reduce recovery time, lower anesthesia-related risks, and improve patient comfort and engagement throughout treatment. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Flint is dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality orthopedic care to a diverse patient population.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Flint enjoys spending time with his family, serving in his church and community, traveling, and staying active through outdoor pursuits such as hiking, skiing, running, mountain biking, rock climbing, table tennis, and pickleball.
