He did surgery on my daughter and made sure every family member in the room understood everything that was going on. He showed photos of the surgery,he is an amazing doctor. He just did the surgery today, and brought back my faith in what doctor patient family communication is supposed to be like. My background is ER and rescue squad. I’ve been wondering where the doctors have been who are supposed to be like Dr. Shortridge. I met him tonight for the first time with my wife, son-in-law and granddaughter. Do I need to say we were ALL impressed? My daughter and has been talking about him for a month and I understand why she was so impressed with him.
I’m very thankful that I was referred to Dr. Shortridge. I had chronic pain for the last 7 years after a previous hernia surgery. I had went to several other surgeons who told me that everything was fine. No problems. Dr. Shortridge confirmed my concern that I had another hernia as well as identified the cause of my chronic pain due to surgical tacs used in my previous surgery. He repaired my hernia and removed the tacs. Since the surgery the chronic pain I had is left gone. Dr. Shortridge has excellent bedside manner, he takes the time to listen. He is kind and compassionate. When I have had to contact his office in regards to medications or disability paperwork. His staff has returned my calls/messages within the day. Including the Dr. Shortridge calling me himself on the weekend. I am thankful for his care and expertise and would refer him to friends and family.
