Dr. Hunter is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. Originally from Minnetonka, Minnesota, he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He then completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in ocular pathology at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona.

Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Hunter is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology at the University of Arizona, where he mentors senior residents in both surgical and comprehensive ophthalmology.

Dr. Hunter is dedicated to providing personalized visual outcomes, using advanced technologies to address patients’ refractive needs. His expertise includes complex cataract surgeries, refractive lens exchange, toric lenses for astigmatism, and the use of multifocal, Symfony, and Crystalens implants to optimize vision. He specializes in blade-free LASIK with IntraLase and the Allegretto Wavelight Excimer laser for myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and post-refractive enhancements.
